About
Janine Herholdt
Growing up in South Africa, Janine has always been fascinated by the diversity of contexts and people’s everyday experiences of urban life. While working as an urban planner in Cape Town for more than 8 years, she gained invaluable experience engaging with divergent challenges at a variety of scales. She also became interested in the interface between heritage and how people experience place and therefore relocated to the Netherlands to study spatial heritage at the Vrije University. Her focus is the development of innovative development concepts, spatial strategies and cultural planning. She believes that we can learn a lot from each other’s challenges and is passionate about applying simple yet creative solutions to urban questions.
