Rebecca Plumbley joined WeLoveTheCity as an urban design intern in July 2021. She has previously worked at a non-profit in South Africa and an architecture firm in Rwanda, and has a master’s degree in City and Regional Planning from the University of Cape Town. Her previous work has examined topics of urban informality, health and governance in cities.
Rebecca is passionate about tackling urban challenges, particularly in ways that contribute towards social and spatial justice, ensure inclusive access to resources and services, and improve livelihood security.
Rebecca is interested in the different ways that participation occurs in planning and design, and the role of intermediary organizations in participation processes.
