Stationsgebied Delft Campus is an integral part of Schieoevers Noord and forms the missing link between Kabeldistrict, Voorhof, Tanthof and Schieoevers Zuid. The renovated station is located on the Ooude Lijn, the railtrack that connects the knowledge and innovation centers in Leiden, The Hague, Delft and Rotterdam. SDC is therefore also the gateway to the TU Campus.

Delft Campus Station is located on the site of the suburban Delft Zuid stop, one of the 10 worst stations in the Netherlands according to travelers. The number of travelers has fluctuated around 4,500 for years, much less than you would expect based on the number of residents, businesses and institutions in the area. This is because many people from Delft prefer to cycle to Delft Station to catch the train with a cup of coffee, even though Delft Campus Station is closer by.

“We want the station area to be a pleasant place to work, live and stay. To achieve that, it is important that all parties in the area work together.”

Alderman Stephan Brandligt, city of Delft

WeLoveTheCity wants the people of Delft to embrace the station. Therefore, we will break down barriers for people and animals and transform the no man’s land into an innovative playground where people can experiment, create and live with facilities that stimulate meeting, discovery and movement.

We will soon start with placemaking, testing and, if successful, scaling up innovations around sustainable mobility, robotics and health. Come and visit us!
